Cone cake pops

July 8, 2020 by Kyle Kyle crocodile

I am Kyle and I am 10 years old (almost). I have loved cooking with my Mom since I was little. Grandma Joyce is my Grandma and I’m number 48 in the Table For Fifty. I’ve recently loved learning to barbecue.

I like cooking because I get to serve people and get good reviews. I thought I would give this recipe a try because it seemed like it would be good with white chocolate and a Funfetti cake mix. They are pretty easy to make and they are good.

I learned how to separate the egg whites from the egg yolks. First, you crack the egg and then gently toss the orange yolk back and forth while you let the egg white slip into a bowl below.

I had to bake a cake for the cake pops and I decided to use a confetti (Funfetti) cake mix because that sounded good with the white chocolate.

I love vanilla because it smells good. I am making frosting in this picture. I decided to make my own frosting because my Mom makes frosting that I think tastes really good. It tastes better than store bought frosting.

Pouring in the cake mix. I’m about ready to bake it.

Once the cake is baked, I mashed it up into crumbles and mixed it in with my frosting. I colored it because I like colors (you don’t have to color yours).

I am flattening the cake and frosting mixture out on the cones. And I’m making some balls also so that later, I can put the balls on the top of the cones with white chocolate.

I am putting white chocolate into a microwave-safe bowl so that I can melt it in the microwave. I usually put it in for 15 seconds to start. I stir it even though it isn’t all the way melted yet. Then I keep microwaving the chocolate for 15-seconds and if it still isn’t melted, I keep on doing 5 seconds at a time until it is done. If you microwave chocolate for too long, it might burn. So that’ why I do it in short sections.

I am adding the white chocolate to the cone and then putting a ball of cake and frosting mix on top of it. Then I spread on more white chocolate on top of that. Then I add on the sprinkles!

Last, chill them for 15 minutes.

Grandma Joyce

Why Table For Fifty?

For 70+ years, Grandma Joyce has been perfecting her own recipes and training a second and third generation of great cooks, All of us cook, and garden, and do-it-ourselves. It’s the way we were raised. At this writing, if you count children, children’s spouses and grandchildren, there are exactly FIFTY of us. Thus, TableForFifty is a collection of second and third generation recipes we have shared with one another.

The family home, built in 1901 has been a place for family gatherings for five generations. Today, Grandma Joyce and Grandpa Jim maintain the home, a large vegetable garden, and enough flowers that the two of them have instituted a "don't ask, don't tell" policy with regard to the nursery and bedding plant budget.
